งานวิจัยเรื่อง “เรื่องเล่าในบทธรรมเทศนาของพระไพศาล วิสาโล” เกิดจากการผู้วิจัยได้รับฟังบทธรรมเทศนาของพระไพศาล วิสาโล ที่เผยแพร่ในสื่อออนไลน์ต่างๆโดยเฉพาะช่องยูทูบ ผู้วิจัยมีข้อสังเกตว่าพระไพศาล วิสาโล มักนำเรื่องราวต่างๆมาประกอบการเทศน์อยู่เสมอจนอาจกล่าวได้ว่าเป็นวิธีการเทศน์ของท่าน ผู้วิจัยจึงรวบรวมบทธรรมเทศนาเฉพาะตอนที่ปรากฏเรื่องเล่าทำให้พบว่ามีเรื่องเล่าหลายประเภทที่ประกฏในบทธรรมเทศนา อีกทั้งเรื่องเล่ายังปรากฏในส่วนต่างๆ ของบท ตลอดจนทำหน้าที่แตกต่างกัน จึงได้ศึกษาวิเคราะห์และปรากฏผลการศึกษาวิเคราะห์ดังนี้ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า บทธรรมเทศนาของพระไพศาล วิสาโล มีจุดมุ่งหมายของการเทศน์แบ่งออกเป็น 4 จุดมุ่งหมาย ได้แก่ 1 เรื่องที่มุ่งให้ผู้ปฏิบัติธรรมปฏิบัติตน 2 เรื่องที่มุ่งเน้นเรื่องการสร้างสภาวะสมดุลทางใจ 3 เรื่องที่มุ่งเน้นในการเข้าสังคมและการอยู่ร่วมกับผู้อื่น 4 เรื่องประเภทสุดท้ายคือเรื่องเกี่ยวกับวัฏสงสาร นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าโครงสร้างบทธรรมเทศนาของพระไพศาล วิสาโล ประกอบด้วยส่วนต่างๆ 3 ส่วน คือ ส่วนต้น ส่วนเนื้อหา และส่วนสรุป โดยแต่ละส่วนมีรายละเอียดเนื้อหาแตกต่างกัน เนื้อหาในส่วนต้นมี 3 แบบ ได้แก่ ก) ส่วนต้นที่เล่าเรื่องต่างๆเพื่อนำเข้าสู่เนื้อหา ข) ส่วนต้นที่ใช้หลักธรรมในการนำเข้าสู่เนื้อหา และ ค) ส่วนต้นที่ใช้การพรรณนาความสำคัญเพื่อนำเข้าสู่เนื้อหาในส่วนเนื้อหา พบว่ามี 2 แบบ ได้แก่ ก) ส่วนเนื้อหาที่สาธยายหลักธรรม ข) ส่วนเนื้อหาที่เล่าเรื่องราว ส่วนท้ายขแบ่งออกเป็น ก) เนื้อหาสรุปความคิด ข) บทสรุปแบบเรื่องเล่า และ ค) ส่วนท้ายแบบแนะนำ ซึ่งจะเห็นได้ว่าเรื่องเล่าปรากฏอยู่ในทุกส่วนของบทธรรมเทศนา โดยเรื่องเล่าแต่ละเรื่องที่ปรากฏในส่วนต่างๆทำหน้าที่ 2 ประการ คือ 1 เรื่องเล่าทำหน้าที่นำเข้าสู่หัวข้อธรรมะ และ 2 เรื่องเล่าเป็นตัวอย่างประกอบหลักธรรม อย่างไรก็ตาม การคัดสรรเรื่องเล่ามาประกอบการเทศน์นั้นเป็นเรื่องเล่าที่แตกต่างกัน 6 ประเภท ได้แก่ ก) เรื่องเล่าของบุคคลทั่วไปที่ไม่ระบุตัวตนได้ข) พุทธประวัติ พุทธสาวก และ ประวัติพระภิกษุในปัจจุบัน ค) เรื่องของลูกศิษย์ หรือบุคคลที่เป็นที่รู้จักในสังคม ง) เรื่องสมมติ เช่น นิทาน เรื่องเล่าจากลิทธิเซน จ) เรื่องในประวัติศาสตร์ ฉ) เรื่องของคนที่พระไพศาล วิสาโล รู้จักหรือญาติโยมที่ท่านคุ้นเคย ทั้งนี้เรื่องที่มาเล่าประกอบด้วยความขัดแย้งที่ตัวละครต้องประสบ 3 แบบ คือ 1 ความขัดแย้งภายในจิตใจของตัวละคร สามารถแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ประเภทย่อย ได้แก่ 1) ตัวละครประสบความสำเร็จในชีวิต แต่ไม่พบความสุขที่แท้จริง 2) ตัวละครต้องพบความทุกข์ทางใจที่หาทางออกไม่ได้ 2 ความขัดแย้งกับกฎเกณฑ์ในสังคม และ 3 ตัวละครขัดแย้งกับธรรมชาติ เช่น ความทุพลภาพ ความชรา เป็นต้น ซึ่งพระไพศาล วิสาโล ได้ชี้ให้เห็นว่าธรรมะคือทางของของความขัดแย้งต่างๆเหล่านี้

The research on “The Story in the sermons of Pra Paisan Wisalo” originated from the researcher who had listened to Phra Phaisan Visalo's sermons published in various online media, especially YouTube channels. The researcher noted that Phra Phaisan Visalo always brings stories to his sermons that can be said to be his method of preaching. The researcher therefore compiled the sermon chapters only when the narrative appeared and found that there were many types of narratives that appeared in the sermons. The narrative also appears in different parts of the chapter. as well as perform different functions Therefore, the study was analyzed and the results of the study were analyzed as follows: The results of the study found that Phra Paisan Wisalo's sermons have four main objectives: 1 focusing on the practice of dharma practice; 2 focusing on balancing the mind; 3 focusing on dharma practice, the last types of stories are about the cycle of sorrow. It was also found that the structure of Phra Paisan Wisalo's sermon consisted of 3 parts: the beginning, the content and the summary, each with different content details. There are 3 types of content in the beginning section: a) a section that tells stories to bring into the content; b) a section that uses dharma principles to bring into the content; As for the content, it was found that there were 2 types: a) the content that explained the Dharma principle; b) the content that told the story. The summary is divided into a) content summary, b) narrative summary, and c) suggested footer, which can be seen that the stories appear in every part of the sermon each narrative that appears in different sections serves two purposes: 1 narrative serves as an introduction to the Dharma topic and 2 narratives are examples of dharma principles. However, the selection of narratives to accompany the sermons are 6 different types of narratives, namely: a) Narratives of an anonymous general person b) History of the Buddha, Buddha's disciples and current monks' history c) Stories of disciples or a person who is known in society d) fictional stories such as fairy tales, stories from Litthyzen e) historical stories f) stories of people at Phra Phaisan Visalo knows or relatives that you are familiar with.However, the story consists of conflicts that the characters have to experience in 3 types: 1 conflict within the character's mind. Can be divided into 3 sub-types: 1) the characters are successful in life. 2) The characters must experience emotional distress that cannot be solved, 2 conflicts with rules in society, and 3 characters contradict nature, such as disabilities, old age, etc. Phra Paisan Wisalo pointed out that Dharma is the way of these conflicts.
