Abstract
This research has scrutinized and selected Thailand's industrial products that have the highest potential for competitiveness within the framework of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). The concept of this study has been divided into two main parts: the selection of the industrial primary and final targets. For the primary industrial targets, top ten core industries mostly on benefit from Free Trade Agreements under a framework of tariff reduction within BIMSTEC, are selected. The GTAP (Global Trade Analysis Project) model was the instrument employed for the selection. For the final industrial targets the first three industries with the highest potential are selected from the 10 industrial primary choices employing five instruments such as Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Constant Market Share Model (CMS), Average Growth and Industrial Competitive Index (ICI) as well as an order of the market share to be additional factors for potential competitiveness determination.
