Abstract
The problem of waste is now a global one. Public andprivate sectors must cooperate to address the issue inorder to solve the world’s limited resource and energyproblem. Plastics are made from limited resource such aspetroleum. Like other resources, therefore large advancescould be made to recycle plastics wastes. The green andreverse logistics also provides business their bottom-linethrough good image as well as could reduce cost by usingrecyclable items form their own waste products. Thestudy was undertaken with the objectives to: (1) study thepresent status of plastic waste management and theexisting Phnom Penh household willingness and theirinfluence factors to segregate plastics for recycling andreuse; (2) study how other cities encourage and obtainedthe participation of their population in plastics recyclingand reuse and (3) recommend which policy thegovernment should implement for plastic waste in PhnomPenh.
