Abstract
This paper describes a reverse supply chain from the pointof view of a company providing after-sales service for theelectronic products. The objective is to decide the facilitylocations and product flow to support two types ofnetworks: a repair network for faulty products andrefurbish network for commercial returns.We propose a mixed integer linear programming (MILP)model to maximize total profit subject to conservation andflow constraints. The binary variables represent the use offacility for the networks while the continuous variablesrepresent the amount of flow. The optimal decisionsdepend on several factors e.g. rate of product returned,percent of faulty products, demand of refurbishedproducts, warranty, distance between facilities, andrefurbishment fractions. The model will be tested on reallifedata for validation.
