Studying the narrative told by women in prison will help society to understand theliving conditions of women in prison who also have thoughts, feelings, interactions andhopes like other women in general. However, because of the tremendously differentcontext, there is no comparison between women in general and those living in prison.Nevertheless, studying the narrative created and told liberally by the women who havedirect experience will help society to acknowledge, understand and adjust our globalperspective on female inmates. This study aims at revealing the promotion of selfrespectand self-confidence among women that will lead to the creation of a new lifein prison. This is based on the belief that humans have diverse foundations of thoughtand life in different social contexts. Because of these, the self-creation and themeaning of the value of each individual woman are different. The study discloses thatwomen use the in-prison learning as a driving force to push their internal potentialforward and create a value and a new life for themselves both while living in prisonand also for the future when they are discharged.
